Counselors’ Corner

January and the New Year is here, and Christmas went well! That beautiful snow we had in early December kicked the season off well. I’ve had the kids home with me for the last week or so and it has been wonderful seeing them and visiting with them again face to face. Rose and David had to cut their visit a little short, because David’s great grandmother passed away just before Christmas. Please pray for the comfort of their family. Rose got me a book about the life of Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women, who is one of my favorite authors and the PBS documentary on DVD to go with it. That was so nice. Rock drew me a beautiful picture of an angel holding up a young girl, which is absolutely awesome, so I framed it. I managed to have a little something for each of my kids, so I’m happy about that. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner together, and then went to go play Rock Band, which the older kids brought for the younger ones, at the community center. It was a good day overall. I’m not crazy about Rock Band, but it’s not as bad as some other games I’ve seen, so I can live with it.



I got outside one day that was actually sunshiny and worked in my garden. I managed to de-weed the six foot overgrowth and found I still had a few collard and mustard greens, some garlic stalks, and some green onions. I’m looking forward to a few days after the Christmas season to work on it some more, if it will ever stop raining. It was so dry this past summer, I was sure of a drought, but instead of a drought, we’ve had a deluge this winter. I do hope we have some rain this summer when we need it. That old fish pond is full again to the brim right now, but it dries out every summer. Have to keep moving my fish back and forth to another pond that hasn’t been drying out so much. I had my first few flowers blooming this month, some paperwhites. That was nice. I love the out of doors, when I have time to enjoy it. I hope some of you will take time to enjoy the out of doors as well. It’s very refreshing, when your mind is tired out from working on other things.



Well, I finished my final editing of my paraphrase of the New Testament and the Psalms and Proverbs a few days before Christmas and managed to put it on CD’s for the kids and a few others. I pray that my efforts are not in vain, as I have sacrificed many days and nights to complete this project. I have edited and reedited so many times, I stopped counting. I’m still not sure it’s what it needs to be, but I’ve given it a good try. If any of you want a copy on CD for your computer, just let me know. I’ll make you one for any donation to my ministry. I’m also planning to try to do a group experience for victims of childhood sexual abuse soon. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this, or want more info just let me know. I’m ready to move my ministry forward now that I’m finished with school. I still need some kind of income as well, so pray that God will provide one way or another. I’m keeping my eyes open for work and putting in apps when I find something that I might can do, but I’ve had no success as of yet. I’m going to rework my resume and try to polish it up a bit as my daughter says it needs some serious help! She’s the expert, so I guess she’s right. In the mean time it’s all about survival! Getting bread and milk on the table and paying the bills. Pray!



I’m still thinking about finding a way to start up my bookstore again, so if anyone interested in supporting this cause or helping out in any way, just let me know. I still have many books and keep getting more all the time, so I just need a place to put them all. It would be nice to have a little Christian bookstore somewhere with a coffee shop to sit and read. Well that is one of my dreams, anyway. Maybe someday. If I could just get a small grant or something to get it started, I might have a chance. I think I may try and look into that. It might be worth a shot. Who knows? In any case, I’m reading several books on leadership and entrepreneurial experiences, so maybe something good may come about. I truly hope so. I am praying for God to show me what’s next, and I’m waiting as patiently as possible, while trying to do what ever I can to get me where I need to be. So pray for God’s blessings and patience on my part. Well, that’s enough about me, so have a very happy new year with many blessings to all of you. I pray that everyone is happy and blessed in this next year, and trust that God will see us all through whatever struggles may confront us there. Notes and Prayer Requests

• Tommy’s girl friend, Amanda, graduated from basic training for the National Guard, and will be leaving for a school in January. Tommy will be starting at PRCC in January as well, we believe, so pray for his success.

• Pray for a full time job for Rock, so he can pay back USM and get back in school.

• My daughter Sunny will be starting back to college in January. Pray for strength of mind, body, and spirit!

• Rose’s grant has just run out for the job she has had, so she has applied to some other positions. She has had an interview that she believes went very well and they told her she is in the top few candidates, so please be in prayer that she gets this job.

• David lost his great grandmother just a couple of days before Christmas so please pray for their family.

• I have published all of my paraphrases on the Triond website. The links are listed below in several Daily Bible Reading Plans, if anyone wants to check them out. • I would appreciate if you’d let me know of grammar, punctuation, and other mistakes I may have made. My goal is to make the paraphrase as simple and clear as possible. I know they still need much work, as they are drafts of a work in progress. I don’t know of any other Bible that uses the Name of Yahweh (I am in Hebrew), so I have worked hard to get it right. Please pray that God helps me in this work, and let me know of any mistakes you find. Thank all of you who are praying for me on this.







Daily Bible Reading Plans for the New Word, The Old Sayings, and The Old Hymns



The New Word, The Old Sayings and The Old Hymns is a unique feminist approach to a gender-neutral paraphrase of the Holy Bible, which uses the true name of Yahweh God and of Yeshua, the Christ, rather than the traditional man made form of Jehovah. I attempted this several year project out of a strong desire to make known the true name of Yahweh God and to help complete the great commission of Jesus Christ. It is the first Bible to my knowledge that uses the Name of God in its proper form, which had fallen out of use because of the Hebraic tradition to not say it at all by replacing it with Lord (Adoni) or God (Elohim), for fear of using it in vain. Yahweh, in the Hebrew, simply means I AM. Yahweh God is the great I AM!

This paraphrase is a working draft, and these are the published excerpts in the completed series. This version is particularly intended to reach an audience on the internet, that may not just go pick up a Bible and read it. I would like to encourage Christians and non-Christians alike to read through them using one of the suggested reading plans below and comment on them, whether you have a critique, editing correction, or praise. I am particularly looking for clarity of ideas, and simplicity for a younger or less educated audiences, which may have trouble reading and understanding some of the other more traditional versions. Archaic language, has been replaced by more modern readings of the ideas presented in the KJV. If you find a section that is still somewhat difficult to read, or understand, please let me know your thoughts on it. I would like to make all the corrections necessary before attempting further publication and dissemination. I am asking for the Triond community and other readers to help me find any significant errors, and check for readability.
