Counselors’ Corner

Well, December is here, and Christmas is coming fast! But not fast enough Joey says. We got our tree up and decorated yesterday and hung the stockings. We put what presents we have under it, and we’re all ready for the holidays. All the kids are coming home for Christmas this year, so I am very grateful! I haven’t seen Sunny in two years! Rock hasn’t been gone but a few months, but that’s been too long as well. I’m so looking forward to having them all home! I used my last paycheck to buy a few presents and some of Christmas dinner, so we’re going to be o.k., I think. I managed to pay the electric, water, and phone bills for December, so I am happy. I had a garage sale and got a few more Christmas things done, and will be doing it again this weekend. I’ve also been making my Jesus Fish Indian bead earrings and some jingle bell earrings as well, if anyone wants to buy some. I also have a young dove and some puppies for sale for Christmas if anybody is interested in those. I’ve put in several job applications online, so pray that something may turn up there. One in particular that I would love to get is at the Duke school of divinity. Rose found it and sent me the link, so I sent in my resume. Well, just say a prayer that we can pay the bills in the mean time.

God is so good, and for now, I’m glad to be home with the kids. I was sick when I got fired, so it gave me time at home to rest and recuperate. It’s a shame that a child’s lies and an irate mother can spoil things so easily, but in this world, persecution is to be expected. I will miss working at the Boys and Girls club, but really I’m glad to be back home for the holidays. We haven’t done without anything yet, and I trust God will provide for our needs. Besides I’ve needed the time to go through my paraphrase of the NT and edit it one more time. I’m publishing it book by book on my blogspot website after editing each book again. I’ve gotten Matthew through Romans done, as of today. I’m trying to do a book of the Bible a day, and have it ready to put on CD’s by Christmas. Please pray for my efforts. I wasn’t getting it done while I was working, so maybe that’s why I lost my job. Maybe God just wants me to get this done. I don’t know, but anyway, I’m home and getting it done now.

I hope everyone out there has a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year. Their talkin’ snow maybe this weekend, so maybe we’ll get a white Christmas! Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I do recommend that if you don’t have a copy of the movie The Nativity to watch this Christmas, then go to your nearest Christian Bookstore and buy it. Bob’s Books, next to Wendy’s on Hwy 98 is where I like to shop when I have the funds. Speaking of Christian Bookstores, I’ve been wanting to get my second hand Christian Bookstore, “Go Fish Books” started again. But I learned a lot the last time I tried it. I would need about 30-40 regular monthly customers, who would spend about $10-20 a month to keep it going. I am praying about this, but if I do it, I want to do it right this time, with plenty of customer support. The last time I did it on a wing and a prayer on the wrong side of town and was only able to keep it afloat 8 months, not having enough community response. If you would be willing to shop a second hand Christian bookstore at least once a month, please give me a quick email back. If I get enough responses, I may try it again. Also if you have good conditioned Christian Books or other Christian merchandise to donate to the cause, just let me know. Please be in prayer with me about this, to see if this is what God wants me to do. Well, Merry Christmas again and have a wonderful and blessed holiday season with all your friends and family!

• My little Awana boy from last year, Zack Little, is getting chemotherapy treatments now, so please keep him in your prayers.

• Tommy’s girl friend, Amanda, who is in basic training for the National Guard, so please pray for her.

• Rock has now been accepted in a nursing school in North Carolina, but needs funds to pay USM back. Pray for a full time job for him, to make that happen.

• My daughter Sunny has experienced some personal setbacks, but is trying to finish up her education as well. Pray for strength of mind, body, and spirit!

• Rose has just got a promotion at Duke!

• I would appreciate if you’d let me know of grammar, punctuation, and other mistakes I may have made. My goal is to make the paraphrase as simple and clear as possible. I know they still need much work, as they are drafts of a work in progress. I don’t know of any other Bible that uses the Name of Yahweh (I am in Hebrew), so I have worked hard to get it right. Please pray that God helps me in this work, and let me know of any mistakes you find. Thank all of you who are praying for me on this.







Daily Bible Reading Plans for the New Word, The Old Sayings, and The Old Hymns



The New Word, The Old Sayings and The Old Hymns is a unique feminist approach to a gender-neutral paraphrase of the Holy Bible, which uses the true name of Yahweh God and of Yeshua, the Christ, rather than the traditional man made form of Jehovah. I attempted this several year project out of a strong desire to make known the true name of Yahweh God and to help complete the great commission of Jesus Christ. It is the first Bible to my knowledge that uses the Name of God in its proper form, which had fallen out of use because of the Hebraic tradition to not say it at all by replacing it with Lord (Adoni) or God (Elohim), for fear of using it in vain. Yahweh, in the Hebrew, simply means I AM. Yahweh God is the great I AM!

This paraphrase is a working draft, and these are the published excerpts in the completed series. This version is particularly intended to reach an audience on the internet, that may not just go pick up a Bible and read it. I would like to encourage Christians and non-Christians alike to read through them using one of the suggested reading plans below and comment on them, whether you have a critique, editing correction, or praise. I am particularly looking for clarity of ideas, and simplicity for a younger or less educated audiences, which may have trouble reading and understanding some of the other more traditional versions. Archaic language, has been replaced by more modern readings of the ideas presented in the KJV. If you find a section that is still somewhat difficult to read, or understand, please let me know your thoughts on it. I would like to make all the corrections necessary before attempting further publication and dissemination. I am asking for the Triond community and other readers to help me find any significant errors, and check for readability.
