Counselors’ Corner
Well, It’s September! Fall is on its way. I’m looking forward to a few cooler days, but not the cold ones. I dread those! I’m a spring and fall person I guess, and I can tolerate summer pretty well, but I don’t like the cold much, unless it’s snowing! I just put in several plants this past week that I found on clearance sale at Lowe’s. I found a rack of perennials flowers that were 90% off. I had to buy the whole rack to get the 90% off, but I got over 80 plants for just under $40, which averaged about .50 a plant. That was an awesome deal! I planted several golden canna lilies down by my fish ponds and some in my front yard. I got several butterfly bushes and planted in Mama’s yard and my own in the sunny spots. I got a couple of day lilies, one or two daisy type flowers, and some Katy rubellias. I also got a bunch of begonias, which I’ve never done before, so I’ll have to learn how to dig those up when it turns cold and store them safely. It took me three days to get them all in the ground, but I managed it. I’m so excited because as soon as I got them all in the ground, God sent a pouring rain to water them in well. God’s word says in Psalms 68:9-12 You, oh God, sent much rain, by which You confirmed Your inheritance, when it was nearly destroyed. Your people stand in it: You, oh God, have provided Your goodness for the poor. My God gave the Word and those who published it were made great. Leaders of armed forces ran away, and those who stayed at home received the benefits. God is truly good to the poor. I know, I’ve been poor a long time and I have been blessed many times more than I would have if I were “making it’. These plants should all come back next year, but even if I loose a few, most should come back each year. God is good! I guess that was my anniversary present. Rocky’s and my 29th anniversary was Aug. 14. I still pray for our reconciliation someday, but my hope is in God’s power to change things, not in Rocky’s or my own power to do it. Please continue to pray for us.

I also got a real good deal at Hudson’s Dirt Cheap a couple of weeks ago. I was just going in the door, when a worker stuck his head out the door and told me they were marking the buggies out front from $10 to $3. There were several buggies full of stuff out front, so I took a look in them to see if I could see anything I needed. I saw garden seeds, so I bought two of them. I tried to buy a third one with my card but my deposit had not gone through yet. So I told the lady at the check out I only had $1 and change left and she rang the third buggy up for only $1. Out of those three buggies, I got 72 packs of garden seeds, a swimming pool, 2 air mattresses, some bathroom scales, some baby shower invitations, which I need for Amanda and Rose, and several other things we could use. And my God will give you everything you need out of the riches of Christ, who has been made known to us from heaven. Phil 4:19 These are a couple of my favorite passages, and I claim them daily! God is truly good!!!!!!!!!!!

Last month, I also got a part time job finally, caring for a 90 year old man. It’s only a few hours a week, but it’s more than what I had before. Between it and what I get from mowing Mama’s yard and cleaning her house, it’s enough to cover our utility bills and buy a few groceries. I really enjoy working for Mr. Al too. He’s a good man, who loves Selah and Joey. He used to be a school principal, so he enjoys having the kids around I think. I take him twice a week to his exercise classes and then clean his apartment for him. He buys us lunch on the way home, which is really a blessing. This is good, really good. God is so good!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been slow getting my fall garden started, because I’m so busy now. But I’m going to try to get some work done on it this weekend maybe. I found an interesting contraption at Hudson’s dirt cheap yesterday, which is a moth trap. I hope it works, because the caterpillars ate all my greens this year. It’s supposed to catch the moths before they lay their eggs and make caterpillars to eat everything up. I really don’t like using a lot of bug poison, and this is supposed to be a more eco-friendly way to control the caterpillars, so I’m going to try it this coming year. I really do hope it works. I planted several herbs this year that are well established now, so I should have those from now on, as they are perennials. I planted peppermint, spearmint, orangemint, lemonbalm, oregano, and pineapple sage. I hope to add more each year and have a good size herb garden, as well as my regular garden. I learned how to make green tea out of some of them, now I just have to learn how to dry them and save them for later use.

On another note, I had an interesting dream last night. I dreamed that I was dressed like a princess in a very beautiful gown. Satan was near by in a similar outfit, as if he were in disguise, but I could see that it was Satan. He said to me, “I can’t touch you because you’re a daughter of the King.” What a wonderful thought that Satan can’t touch me because I’m a daughter of the King, Jesus! Satan may try to bring me harm, but ultimately he can’t bring me any real harm because I am a daughter of the King. This is an awesome thought to me. It reminds me of the passage that says “God will work all things together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to God’s purpose.” I praise God for this little glimpse into the spiritual realm.

Sasha’s pups are ready if anyone is interested. Just let me know. I’ve been working on this breed for several years now. They have lab, golden retriever, Australian Shepherd, and Husky in them. I’m calling them American Southern Shepherds (ASS, I know, it’s a little southern humor). Anyway I wanted the best of the breeds all rolled into one. Goldens and Huskies are two of the healthiest breeds, and labs and Aussies have the instincts I love. Anyway I designed this breed over several years and finally have all the components I wanted in them. I think their going to be a great breed. I’d like to get a hundred each for them, but I’ll take whatever you can afford to pay if you really want one. I’ve only got two left, so let me know soon if you want one. They look just like golden retrievers, with a few small white markings on them. I sold all the Black and Tan ones except for what I’m keeping.

I’ve had to give up on my website for my Go Fish Christian Books for now. I still have the books though, so if you saw something you wanted, just let me know. I’m marking them down to $3 for hardbacks and $2 for softbacks, but that’s always negotiable. My book inventory is listed below, so you can still let me know if you see anything you want. I know they still need much work, as they are drafts of a work in progress. I don’t know of many other Bibles that use the Name of Yahweh (I am in Hebrew), so I have worked hard to get it right.
